Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB) is a nonprofit organization that provides home repairs, accessibility modifications, and energy-efficient upgrades for low-income families, veterans, the elderly, victims of disasters, and disabled homeowners in need. This Saturday, RTTB is sponsoring the 2016 National Rebuild Day. This is part of their ongoing Building a Healthier Sulphur Springs Project, to revitalize one of Tampa’s most distressed neighborhoods. The program is providing immediate quality of life improvements to homeowners and tenants in need. RTTB is expecting over 300 volunteers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to repair and rejuvenate 38 homes in Tampa’s historic Sulphur Springs neighborhood. Program speakers at the National Rebuild Day event include RTTB Board President Carol Austin, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Senator Arthenia Joyner, Representative Ed Narain, Commissioner Les Miller, Councilman Frank Reddick, and Chloe Coney, representing Congresswoman Kathy Castor. Also attending the event are Representative Darryl Rouson, Commissioner Ken Hagan, Commissioner Kevin Beckner, Councilwoman Lisa Montelione, Councilman Mike Suarez, Councilman Guido Maniscalco, Councilman Charlie Miranda, and Commissioner Kathryn Starkey.
