Ron Pierce has been invited by the USF School of Public Affairs to teach this year’s Legislative Internship Program (LIP). The LIP program is offered through the University of South Florida and gives students an opportunity to gain real world experiences in public policy by working nine hours per week in the offices of local county and city elected officials or think-tank/policy agencies.

Ron will be teaching a seminar once a week on our local and state political processes, and how ordinances and bills become laws. Ron’s experiences give him a unique perspective which will allow him to accurately discuss how companies, associations and individuals can take part in that process.

LIP students are paired with an elected official who is actively involved in Florida’s economic development, growth management, transportation, environmental protection, education, health and social welfare.

In past sessions, RSA Consulting has hosted interns from the Tallahassee Internship Program (TIP), all of whom have landed excellent positions in the political processes. The Tallahassee Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work for State Senators and House of Representative members or political organization in Tallahassee during the Legislative Session.

Ron is very excited for this opportunity and is looking forward to working with these students and guiding them through the political process.

Davion’s Internship is Coming to an End
Unfortunately, the summer is coming to an end and the fall semester is approaching. We are very sad to have to say goodbye to our intern, Davion Myles. Davion joined us back in June, and has grown into an excellent resource for our team. He has played an important role in almost every project we have worked on over the past two months. We hope that this will not be goodbye for long. Davion has decided to transfer from Florida Atlantic University to Florida State University so that he can continue to be part of the legislative process. We hope to have the opportunity to work with Davion in the Future. Thank you for all of your hard work and your positive attitude!
